About Us
Elli el-Effendi, L.Ac, Dipl. O.M. (NCCAOM)
Elli graduated with a Masters of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. She has been immersed in Traditional Chinese Medicine since 2018 and is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in the state of Texas. Since graduating, Elli has focused her practice on abdominal acupuncture as her primary form of healing. Prior to her studies at AOMA, she received a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Film, Television, and Media Studies from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
Growing up in Dallas, Elli spent her time either studying or in the dance studio. She first discovered acupuncture as a teen to treat hip injuries, but soon found that it could also alleviate her stress and anxiety. She now utilizes Traditional Chinese Medicine in her own life to treat anything from a common cold to trouble sleeping.

Our bodies desire harmony within, as well as a balance between ourselves and nature. In order to feel our healthiest, this harmony must be achieved. Acupuncture utilizes this need to find equilibrium and allows the body to heal itself.
What to Expect
Treatments at Acupuncture by Design are catered to each individual's needs. Elli takes care in listening to her patients' concerns and building a treatment plan focused on their specific goals. The first treatment is designed to be longer, as an in-depth discussion of health history, presenting symptoms, and treatment intentions is established.
Patients are encouraged to wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and to avoid rigorous exercise following treatments.
Pricing
Initial consultation and treatment (85 minutes): $160
During the initial visit, discussion of presenting symptoms and goals will last about 30 minutes. Elli will then utilize the most suitable modalities for her client's needs. These modalities include gua sha, cupping, acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and moxibustion. Chinese herbal therapy may also be recommended. Herb prices are not included in the treatment price.
Follow-up Treatments: $110
Follow-up treatments may or may not look the same as the initial treatment. There is no surcharge based on modalities utilized. Chinese herbs are the only thing not included in follow-up treatment price.
